The Legislative Ministerial Committee was scheduled to vote on a proposed bill to expand the authority of the rabbinical courts a few weeks ago but due to pressure on the Ministers and in the media by ICAR and its member organizations, the bill was removed from the agenda and the vote was postponed. The proposed bill was then scheduled to come up for an initial vote in the Knesset today but again due to pressure from ICAR and its member organizations, MKs from the coalition and opposition succeeded in removing the bill from the day's agenda
